How Do You Feel About College?
Before you get your panties in a wad, hear me out. I know you’ve spent thousands of dollars on that education. Maybe that education even paid off by padding your pockets in excess of the student loans. That’s great. But, that’s not always the case.
Growing up, college was simply what you did after graduating high school. The parents that would say, “you don’t need college” were the ones on welfare or they were hippies. So, many kids went straight from high school to college, just like good little boys and girls. The thing is, they graduated after spending $40,000.00 on an education and then they searched for jobs only to find they could get a higher paying one at Home Depot.
Now then, while I strongly admire a person who can go through with college and get their degree and put it into practice, I simply do not think that a college degree is necessary, now. Well, not like it was back then. At least, not in my book. Not to mention, $40,000.00 for student loans and a degree, for many, isn’t feasible.
How many billionaires do you know that got rich off of a college education? I’m going to guess you can name them all on one hand, because, the majority of the ones who are up there got there off of common sense and a good idea.

My eldest went to Community College after high school and worked for years in a field that she loved - emotionally and physically challenged children. After a car accident that left her incapable of working directly in the field, she did several jobs before going back to school for computers. Not a lot of work in the field in her area so she started repairing and teaching at the college. She then went back to school, got her BA in English (which she is good at), finishing her MA this year and accepted for her PhD studies. Nearing 50 but she has working years ahead of her and is using all her work and school experience. Sometimes it takes a long time to get there but every experience can help.
When you are young, get enough training to get a start at something you want so you can be independent, think that is best idea. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a university degree but a good grounding.
Whether the route is long or short, have fun getting there. That is the best thing to remember.
